United Motors, Inc., manufacturer of motorcycles, scooters and all terrain vehicles (ATVs) sold under the UM® brand name, and Hyosung Motors & Machinery, Inc., Korea's biggest and most important manufacturer of two-wheel motorcycles and all terrain vehicles (ATVs) sold under the Hyosung ® brand name, announced the execution of a Cooperation Agreement designed to increase their global competitiveness and market share as well as collaborate in other areas such as distribution, product development & manufacturing.
United Motors and Hyosung Motors are two growing and successful worldwide companies in the powersports industry with complementary assets and capabilities. Hyosung Motors will manufacture OEM products for United Motors sold under the UM® brand in selected countries and markets around the world where UM has a strong distribution network, thus increasing Hyosung's overall production and revenues. In this cooperation, United Motors will design and develop high displacement motorcycles including a line of 250cc and 650cc sport bikes and cruisers manufactured by Hyosung Motors.
Another area of the cooperation includes joint product development in different displacement ranges.

Hyosung Motors & Machinery, Inc.

UM (United Motors), the first full line powersports manufacturer in almost 30 years, is pleased to announce significant growth in the U.S. market for the first half of 2007. At the rate of achievements that UM is making, 2008 is looking to be the best year ever for this powersports manufacturer on the rise.
Compared to the period of January-June 2006, UM has seen a 30 percent increase in wholesale sales and a 20 percent increase in retail sales during 2007. Aiding sales is the addition of 48 new Dealers in the first half of 2007 alone. It is evident through these boosts that UM continues to pave its way into the U.S. market and intends to continue this trend.
UM wishes to be readily available to all of their Dealers by the placement of Regional Sales Managers. This year alone, they have added two more: one in New England and one in Colorado, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico. The company’s plan is to add three more in the next 2 months: two in California and one in Texas, bringing the total number to 11 nationwide.
UM is making strides to ensure that 2008 is indeed better than ever, and the 2008 lineup is already starting to show off. The New Year will start to see in October of 2007 one new street bike (250 cc naked), one new vibrant color for all sport bikes, and a new burgundy color for the V2C-650 Cruiser (which is replacing the orange from 2007). All sport and standard bikes will now come standard with black powder coated frames, swingarms, and front suspension components offering a sleek and powerful look.
2008 will also see an exciting new ATV line including two radical side by side two seaters. All UM dirt bikes will receive a cosmetic overhaul and improved quality backing up UM’s promise to remain cutting edge and of course offer a mud-slinging great time!
UM will have the largest new product launch for 2008 in the company’s history! Among those listed include the already released 2008 MTX-450R Sport ATV and 2008 X-Peed 250i fuel injected scooter. The new 2008 Matrix II-150 and 2008 Matrix II-200 scooters will begin rolling out in October 2007.
